Sedona, Arizona 2013

                                                            Monday April 22

Our Third Annual Girls week was in Sedona Arizona this year.  We flew into Phoenix Az and rented a car to drive the 116 miles to the house we rented.   Stopped at Red Rock Information Center and took these pictures first.

I think that's Bell Rock on the left.

Blooming cactus flower.

Me, Dawn and Sandy at the center.

                                                              Morning climb to vortex,

Sandy, Dawn and Cheryl made it to the top, I unfortunately was too chicken for the last 50 ft.

                                 Then to Jerome, Arizona

"America's Most Vertical City" and "Largest Ghost Town in America".
Located high on top of Cleopatra Hill (5,200 feet) between Prescott and Flagstaff is the historic copper mining town of Jerome, Arizona. Once known as the wickedest town in the west, Jerome was a copper mining camp, growing from a settlement of tents to a roaring mining community. Four disastrous fires destroyed large sections of the town during its early history, resulting in the incorporation of the City of Jerome in 1899.)

Our goal was to go the "The Asylum" and have lunch.  It was quite a white knuckle drive up the mountain to Jerome and then the climb up to the Hotel that use to be a hospital and has some unique items.

the items
Old switchboard, new computer.
Inside the old ambulance, see the wheelchair passenger seat.

some very cool stuff along with the resident cat, Romeo.

Romeo, not for sale.

We also found a vortex there!!!!!!

None of us really felt the vibes, so sad........maybe we'll try another one.  The guide on our jeep tour later has lived in the area for years and said the idea of the vortex was relatively new to the area and that some "people" brought there.
